Seasonal Small Plates and Wine Pairings 


The Western Wake Farmers' Market invites you to join them at The Umstead Hotel and Spa for a tasting of farm to table cuisine, showcasing small sampling plates prepared by Executive Chef Scott Crawford paired with wines selected by sommelier Hai Tran. 

Award-winning Executive Chef Scott Crawford will be preparing seasonal small plates using a variety of locally-grown ingredients from vendors at WWFM. Each plate will showcase the market’s selection of fresh seasonal items. Each course will be accompanied with wines selected by sommelier, Hai Tran. Crawford and Tran will provide an interactive experience for guests, in additional to a question and answer session. 

In conjunction with the meal, WWFM will hold a silent auction featuring a variety of locally-made crafts, gift baskets, gift certificates and much more. All proceeds from tickets and silent auction items will directly benefit WWFM. 

Tickets are $65 (tax-deductible) and are available until August 16.

Western Wake Farmers' Market

Proceeds benefit the market's efforts to run an in-house EBT system, giving those in need one more tool in the fight against hunger and disease. Proceeds will also help with educational  initiatives. 

The Western Wake Farmers’ Market (WWFM) promotes healthy eating by providing direct access to nutritious and fresh local foods and by educating the community, through its web site, newsletter and weekly guest educators, about the health and environmental benefits of eating locally. 

The mission of the Western Wake Farmer’s Market is for all people in our community to become educated about and benefit from locally grown food.  Our aim is to help all walks of life, from the farmers to the local consumer to those less fortunate who might need assistance through the local food bank.
